Anti-erosion mat
The EnkaMat "curl mat" is "a three-dimensional polyamide structural mat with an open structure. This mat is composed of tough, looped synthetic filaments fused together where they cross, forming an open structural material with more than 90% voids.
This grid functions as a protective, reinforcing and integrated intermediate layer between natural vegetation and the soil. Grass or other vegetation easily grows through the open spaces of the mat, which can quickly create a green bank. Thanks to the structure of the mat, the roots have a permanent hold, resulting in permanently green banks.
It provides protection above and below the waterline, creating a permanent solution. EnkaMat is available as an open mat for dry slopes, or as a "flatback" mat (with flattened bottom) for wet slopes and for use below the waterline.
Common applications include repelling erosion on dikes, embankments and river banks, canals and reservoirs, protecting banks in waterways, and protecting wadis where rainwater can infiltrate.
