The land is what we all want to live, work and work on safely and healthily. To maintain that for ourselves and for generations to come, we all know that we cannot continue as we are. New solutions are needed. Soil, road and hydraulic engineering can make an important contribution to this with the right, sustainable materials.

Clearly durable in geotechnical applications

Sustainability is a broad concept. In civil engineering, this can stand for a long life of materials, the recycling of used materials, but certainly also for the use of bio-based or compostable products. TEFAB continuously develops innovative (bio-based) materials in cooperation with manufacturers and techlabs. The latest innovations are our specially woven jute geotextiles with a tensile strength of 40 kN and the new coated mesh Inogrid®. This prevents digging damage to dikes or embankments by beavers and other burrowing species. This product was developed with maximum consideration for animal welfare and nature. The mesh is particularly durable with a life expectancy of 50 years and more. Both new items are developed and produced in the Netherlands. For existing materials, TEFAB focuses on the origin of existing materials and on the sustainable performance of producers.

TEFAB thinks and acts from the geotechnical solution. The commitment toward the future is to provide a "clearly sustainable" solution for every geotechnical application. This can be a traditional application or a bio-based alternative. TEFAB has become the largest supplier of biobased and compostable products for civil engineering in the Netherlands and we are proud of that.
